Charitable Gift Annuities
CLICK HERE FOR A DETAILED EXPLANATION
MFS has a Charitable Gift Annuity program in partnership with Friends Fiduciary Corporation, a Quaker non-profit corporation which supplies financial services to Quaker institutions.
How It Works
You transfer cash or securities to the Friends Fiduciary Corporation on behalf of Moorestown Friends School.
After the transfer, Friends Fiduciary Corporation, on behalf of Moorestown Friends School pays you, or up to two annuitants you name, fixed income for life.
The principal passes to Moorestown Friends School when the contract ends.
Benefits
- You receive an immediate income tax deduction for a portion of your gift.
- Your annuity payments are guaranteed for life, backed by a reserve and the full assets of Friends Fiduciary Corporation.
- Your annuity payments are treated as part ordinary income, part capital gains income (15%), and part tax-free income.
- You have the satisfaction of making a significant gift that benefits you now and Moorestown Friends School later.
Minimums
MFS has a $10,000 threshold for annuities and a minimum age of 50.
